Baked pears

DSC_0056I always considered myself as healthy person – comparing with our friends, we live quite a healthy lifestyle – spending more time outside, no fast-food, no TV, walking dogs etc. However, when learning more and more about what does it mean to live healthy, I found out there is plenty of room to improve for us. So recently I started working out (since it is the first time after my surgery when I am capable of moving), looking for new healthier recipes, changing some old habits (ok, I mean white sugar-no white sugar anymore!).

But one thing is never going to change – there is no way I swear it, for me to give up deserts. It is not happening. I would make all the food sweet if I could. Baked pears came to my mind yesterday. Fall is here, so are pears and apples. Why not to make the best out of it? Easy to make, flavourful, warm combination of pears and cinnamon is a perfect replacement for apple pie and great option when you want something quick.

I made three pears this time. So for 3 pears you also need:

1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp oh honey
2-3 fresh thyme sprigs

Cut the pears in half, take out the seeds using a tablespoon. Spread some honey on each of the halves, sprinkle some cinnamon and thyme. Bake in the 180°C preheated oven for 20-30min (depending on how ripe your pears are) until become soft and edges get brown. Perfection!
